I don’t know about you, but I consider myself witchy- I burn palo santo, do tarot readings, and carry a quartz from time to time to bring good vibes and good luck. These are my alternative means to healing and my way to wellness.
Out of all these, I like crystals the best.
Crystals are mysterious, magical, and, oh-so, beautiful.
Rooted in ancient traditions, crystals live at the intersection science, minerology, mysticism, and spirituality. People have been using them to heal and restore, adorn their houses and their bodies. Ancient Egyptians even used Galena (a lead stone) as eye-liner – innovation! Crystals are in a lot of the tech devices that rule our day-to-day -yes, your iPhone and your laptop are made with quartz.
Crystals are everywhere. They were formed during the earlier parts of earth’s formation and contain one of the most orderly structures known to mankind.
Each stone is said to have its unique healing superpowers, and in my mind, they serve as great inspiration to great interior design. For this trend forecasting article, we have selected a few of our favorite crystal-inspired interior spaces. Part encyclopedia, part Pinterest round-up, we think these spaces are rad. Besides, why paint a room pink, when instead, you can supercharge it with crystals that can help you heal and restore your aura and cure any and all ailments from the inside out!
This little mottled light green stone is perfect for those who suffer from anxiety. Green is a color that is closely related to energy and renewal. Whenever the stress is too much and you feel like you can’t even breathe, this little gem will help to calm those turbulent emotions and thoughts.
A personal favorite mostly due to its beautiful purple hues. Purple is known as a color that represents royalty, wisdom, creativity and ambition! This stone is also closely related to our intuition. If you find yourself in a tough position when it comes to your business, or if you need to make very important decisions that will not only impact you but also your team, this stone is perfect for cutting through the chaos and bringing to light what your gut is telling you to do. If you don’t want to meditate with it, just place it under your pillow. This stone can help to make your dreams more vivid and can also give you answers that you’re potentially looking for in your waking life.
This powerful stone is used for protection. If you are experiencing any bad vibes from certain people, keep this precious stone near you! With day-to-day activities, it is common for us to come in contact with people who just don’t have good energy. And believe it or not, this can take a toll on our own energy and our moods. Keep this stone in your bedroom or your family room to keep the peace and the good vibes coming!
Another one of my favorites. This stone is perfect for someone who is seeking balance and stability. Have you been hit with a couple of tough situations in your life suddenly? Do you feel like no matter how hard you try things are just not lining up or going the way you’d like it to go? This is a normal feeling that everyone gets in their lifetime. It is completely normal, but can still be quite daunting. Put this beautiful gemstone near your skin or in your pants pocket (the closer to the root chakra the better) as this stone can make any troubling situation seem a little easier for you, and also “root” you down to earth.
Famously known as the “love” stone. This stone usually has a light pink hue. Feel like you and your partner have been off lately? Place this gemstone close to your heart (or the chest which is known as the heart chakra). Feeling a little down and insecure? Keep this rose quartz on your nightstand and have its healing properties work while you sleep! This stone is excellent for all types of love, this includes self-love. The color pink has been known to decrease aggression and violence and has been known to calm even the most turbulent person. Don’t believe me? Just read this article about a prison in Switzerland that decided to paint their jail cells pink.
So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and get stoned!
